The amazing spider-man sequel is in the market and there is no longer any doubt about who will be the new menace on the streets of New York. First up will be Mary Jane. Then Miles.
Finally, the role of web-slinger Spidey himself has been given to Hobie Brown, who will no doubt take this role with great skill and enthusiasm. This movie will be interesting, but for a full-fledged superhero saga, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 would have been just right. Because for me, the story did not really grab me.
I am pretty sure that it is a story told from the standpoint of the comic book series. It seems to be the spin-off story to Peter Parker's original struggles of surviving high school as the spider. The narrative is uninteresting and the characters have not been properly introduced. Now there are the character developments in this film that come as a surprise, but once again, none of them stand out, and when they do, it is so brief.
Spider-Man is the only known member of the super-hero community who does not keep secrets and even he has been made into a prominent character. Mary Jane, played by Michelle Williams, plays an average student with a secret. Peter and Harry Osborn, played by Topher Grace, as well as Gwen Stacy (Linda Cardellini), played by Emma Stone, are the trio of villains to whom these three characters will soon turn.
Peter's class are already plotting their revenge on Harry Osborn for the death of Gwen Stacy, and they try to get him fired from his job. Meanwhile, the clock is ticking towards the summer's end. Luckily for Peter, he has his friends - but will they be able to help him?
For those interested in watching the online theater, there is no doubt that you will find nothing special in the production. If you pay attention to the character development, you will definitely notice that there is no new plot. It just flirts with the original, re-uses plot points, and then gets to the climax and jumps ahead to the next.
It seems that the producers of this movie decided to make a sequel first, and then another movie. It is like the only people who are happy with this movie are those who see themselves as Spider-Man fans, and those who only see it as a low budget movie. And for those who love comic books, there is not much to be said here because the movie ends with a twist ending, not a sequel.
The movie is sure to be something like a comic book as it includes lots of scenes from the past and parts of the future that will no doubt get us all hooked. No wonder then that it is probably going to be a sequel to the previous one.
