To make his next Las Vegas residency even more memorable, Santana is making a return appearance with his first band, Santana. Forever a true hippie, Carlos Santana has embarked on a career spanning over half a century, from his musical beginnings as a lead guitarist for the Yardbirds and a member of Emerson, Lake and Palmer to his current solo career, as a versatile performer, musician and educator. It's fitting, then, that his latest show at House of Blues in Las Vegas will feature the theme of 2020: A Space Oddyssey in his show.
Although it isn't known who else played on the song, it's likely that the list would include Carlos Santana, who was also a member of the legendary band Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Also appearing at the concert is singer/actor Will Smith, who made his debut with Santana's first solo album. Smith's brother, rapper Sean Combs, appeared on one of the songs on that album. He did not appear on any other of the band's albums.
Of course, this concert is just a warm-up for a larger show in Spain, which takes place later this month. The group will then perform in London, Australia, and New York. There is still no word on whether they will be doing a concert in Europe, but given how popular their band is in Europe, it may just happen. In fact, it could happen as soon as the tour concludes. The group's next European tour will take them to Germany, France and Italy.
This Las Vegas shows marks the first show of the final tour of the current tour, called "Blackout" tour, which will conclude the show with a performance at The House of Blues in Las Vegas on December 10th. The band has also recently started the process of recording its new album, which will feature a new lineup of musicians. The Black Label Society, which includes former members of Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Santana, and Taj Mahal.
