With an intense and emotional storyline, The Babysitter: Killer Queen is definitely an interesting, thrilling read. Two years later after being defeated by a satanic sect led by his previous babysitter, Bee, Cole must once again overcome the powers of evil once again when new enemies unexpectedly reappear. When we first meet him, he has taken on the role of caretaker for his two children. His job includes organizing their day-to-day activities, preparing breakfast and making sure they are safe from bullies and other dangers. Unfortunately, a new babysitting company, The Dime Shop, is trying to take over his children's life.
The Babysitter: Killer Queen by Dan Simmons is divided into two distinct chapters, each focusing on different elements of the story. The chapters include "The Dolls", "The Shop"The Dime Store". I found it to be a fast paced read, but with a captivating storyline that make the reader feel every emotion that comes with the story.
The Dolls is where the story picks up and focuses mainly on two main characters. The first is Bee, who is an escaped serial killer. She is after revenge against her boyfriend who abused her, leaving her with no choice but to kill him. After killing him, she was forced to run away to find her kids; unfortunately, she found out that she didn't have a lot of time. So she sets out on a mission to find the people who murdered her boyfriend. She soon discovers her former babysitter, who also happens to be her arch-enemy.
The Shop chapter is about two girls from two different worlds. The first is Lisa, who is the daughter of an upper-class family who works in an art gallery. The second is the daughter of a middle class family who works as a waitress. Both of them are destined to meet and fall in love, only Lisa is more attractive to a man who knows about her family. He is a serial killer known as Mr. Killian who tries to get revenge against Lisa's parents.
The Dime Store is about a store owner named Dime Store. He is a father figure for the shop's two kids, but when the store suddenly closes, he is left behind with two children to take care of. One of these is Bee, whom he has never met. before. But things change when she begins acting strangely, stealing money and threatening to destroy the store.
The Babysitter: Killer Queen is an entertaining, exciting, suspenseful and engaging book that will keep your interest and emotions locked in. Even though the story isn't original, it still manages to pull the reader into the action at every turn. This is a great start to a series with plenty of tension, mystery and conflict. If you enjoy adventure, crime books and/or romance, this one may be just what you're looking for.
