The Raya and the Last Dragon is an online Role Playing Game (RPG) based on the book by Christina Crooks. Long ago, in the faraway fantasy world of Kumary, dragons and humans lived harmoniously together in perfect balance. But when malicious monsters called the Druun menace the world, the powerful dragons once again sacrifice themselves to protect humanity. Now, 500 years after the events in the book, these same evil creatures have come back, and it is up to an old warrior, newly christened with the power of the Dragon's Gift to seek out the last remaining dragon and put an end to this threat once and for all.
This online game is not only fun to play but is also very addictive. In order to play the Raya and the Last Dragon, you'll need to download the game to your computer. As stated before, it is a single player role playing game so expect to spend some time doing battle with the Druun, as well as interacting with the various side characters that Crooks has created. Some of these side characters include the wise older sister of Rhea, who is searching for her long lost brother; Jorgrin, a nobleman who is trying to achieve enlightenment in all he does; and Kaetru, a young woman who is studying under the tutelage of Rhea. All of these different characters have their own different traits, as well as special skills which will help them in battle. Plus, each character also comes with its own spells, abilities, weapons, and levels to master.
The graphics and sound are both very pleasant to look at, although there is a bit too much background noise for my taste. The overall picture quality for the game is above average for a flash game, though you will probably wish to try the game for yourself before making a purchase. The controls work well and are smooth, even for a novice. The action is fast paced and packed with excitement. It can also get quite confusing at times, especially if you're not that familiar with the setting.
There are different levels in Raya and the Last Dragon, ranging from easy to harder levels depending upon how much time and effort you want to put in. Although you are only given one life, it doesn't seem like you're given that long to defeat the enemies or even complete the game, as you die repeatedly and start again right away. The graphics are very nice and do not distract you from enjoying the game, although you will most likely wish for more details regarding the game. It also would have been better if there was a bit more music and sounds.
Raya and the Last Dragon are available on the Internet through a number of gaming websites, as well as through downloads. Because of its popularity, there are a number of imitation games that are now popping up online, which you should avoid. Although the game is free, there are also sites that ask you to pay a fee and that are out to scam you. You are probably better off playing the game for free online, unless you really like dragons.
You can also play the game using your computer's browser by installing the Flash plugin and then starting the game up. However, this is not recommended unless you know what you are doing and are comfortable using your mouse. Playing the game online using your computer's browser has its own set of benefits and drawbacks as well. Although you are able to view the game on a larger screen, you are not able to see as much of the game as you would be able to by using your LAN Server. You must connect to your LAN server in order to be able to see all the details on the screen.
