Spiral: From the Book of Saw is fast becoming one of the must-see movies of the summer, with its fast-paced plot and engaging performances from stars like Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson. Directed by Wes Ball, the film follows a group of Native Americans on a quest in order to find a sacred stone. When they uncover the location of an ancient burial ground, they discover that the grave contains a massive, ancient, black metal skull. The skull has been there for centuries, waiting tooken evil spirits from the other side. Now, the warriors must use all of their courage to face the evil that hounding them. Will the ancient skull be the key to their fates?
The Book of Saw is in the vein of horror classic horror movies like Halloween or Saw. It has a unique take on the mythology surrounding the haunted house. However, director Wes Ball makes the jump from the usual haunted house movie to something much more original in the form of Spiral: From the Book of Saw. If you like your horror films suspenseful and spine-tingling, then this one's for you. But if you're more into fast-paced action and fantasy, then don't waste your time with this movie...
Spiral: From the Book of Saw is available for streaming on Netflix immediately after it's released. You can also purchase the book through Amazon or Audible right now. The book can be downloaded from Amazon directly and can be purchased via ClickBank or OverDrive. NetFlix is also offering the movie in a wide array of formats including high definition (HD), DVD, and Blu-Ray. You can also buy the movie on iTunes or rent from iTunes. If you haven't seen the movie or are not a fan of either one of those options, then you'll definitely want to watch the film straight through as it's streaming free on Netflix.
Spiral: From the Book of Saw shows what happens when a man tries to check out an old house that now possesses a monster that goes berserk. Although it's probably just the imagination of the director, the story line and the acting are both very entertaining. I think the only problem was that it was kind of boring and didn't hold my interest too long. Overall, I'd recommend the movie to people who are fans of horror movies and are looking for a little more entertainment than the typical Saw movies.
Another horror feature film that's worth seeing is Darren Lynne's New Moon. Although I wasn't a fan of Dolphin Tale when it came out, New Moon is actually my favorite movie of his. It tells the story of a man (Darius Miller) who want to get his old girlfriend back but she's taken off of his list due to some unfortunate circumstances. This is an excellent romantic comedy that stars Darren Lynne and comes from the book by his wife.
Finally, I'm going to include one more movie that I enjoyed that doesn't belong on this list. However, it will have to make it on the "tribute" list since it deals with one of the most notorious serial killers in the history of our country. When the movie was released, it caused quite a stir because director David Fincher decided to include aspects from the novel it was based on. If you haven't seen the movie, I highly suggest giving it a try. I know I'll enjoy every second of it.
